Trigos Award 2019

Wenzel Logistics GmbH was nominated for the Trigos Award in the category of climate protection. The submitted project focuses on intermodal traffic and its reduction of C02 emission.

They recognize that CO2 emissions is a common challenge in the transportation business and therefore, Wenzel Logistics GmbH developed a plan to transition their freight traffic from the road to railways. While the transition from road to rail is not a new concept, it is becoming more relevant than ever before.

Specifically, the project focuses on a section of railway between Graz-Werndorf (Austria) and Neuss (Germany). A significant challenge will be the Pyhrn-Schober Pass with its railway-related restrictions.

The jury appreciated the achievement of successfully transitioning their freight traffic onto the railways in an effort to reduce carbon dioxide emissions.

According to Wenzel Logistics, the conversion of freight traffic to railways is desperately needed in the transportation business in order to reduce CO2 emissions.
